Why is my engagement ring more “sparkly” in lower light?
My fiance gave me a beautiful 1.5 carat engagement ring. The appraisal says that it is excellent clarity. For some reason it is much more sparkly, or reflects the light a lot more in lower light than in bring light. Why is that?
JackelOh- My diamond is real! He got it from a reputable jewler, and the appraisal is from the jewler. It appraised and just over 10k. There is nothing wrong with the diamond. I’m just curious why that is. Thanks for your help anyways.
In brighter light, where there is more light, it is more difused by the eyes to appear as equal all around you. In low light, there is not as much light, so it appears more focused and hence more sparkly. It is truly a game played on your eyes!
