What would be a good handgun for a first time buyer?
It would be for personal protection and I was told by my supervisor who is a huge gun collector/user who is also a cop that I should get a .40 caliber. I have really been looking at an EAA WITNESS ELITE MATCH 40 S&W my supervisor doesnt know anything about the company let alone the gun I would really like suggestions on other guns and anything anyone knows about the gun I have been looking at because search engines havent been giving me much info. thanks
I would start with a 9mm and I would start by going to a local gun shop and getting a feel for as many handguns as you can. Maybe look at Taurus 24/7 pros, Springfield Armory XDs, Ruger P89 or SR9.
.40 caliber is a big round and has some decent recoil to it. It definalty is not fun to shoot for a while if you are new to handguns. 9mm is definatly the way to go. It is also cheaper for target ammo.
