I really can’t find fault with you for misunderstanding Christian scriptures, seeing as how so few Christians understand the Bible in this regard.
Jesus: People can escape Prison after paying the uttermost farthing.
Peter: The gospel is preached to the dead — even the wicked. This would be pointless, even cruel, if no good could come of it.
Paul: The sacraments (at least baptism) are available to the dead with the help of living human proxies, so all of God’s children have a fair chance to hear and accept the gospel.
Paul: There are five glorious rewards mentioned in the New Testament, among three glorious resurrections. Of course they’re not all the same, otherwise why bother? Sun > Moon > Stars, so Celestial > Terrestrial > Unnamed.
Jesus: People will be judged according to their works, and Paul’s teachings show us how that is possible.
John the Revelator: Death and hell will both be destroyed and both will be forced to give up their captives (the corpses and spirits of human beings) so that the resurrection of the dead can occur. If it isn’t physical, tangible, and permanent, it isn’t resurrection.
Hell is never forever.
