Get to know the Shapes – Diamonds come in variety of Shapes like Round, Heart, Pear, Princess, Asscher, Radiant, Marquise, Oval etc. Usually Round shape is the most preferred as it is cut according to a precise formula with 58-facets, divided among its crown (top), girdle (widest part) and pavilion (base) which ensures maximum brilliance. That said, you should look at other Diamond shapes too as they come at a lesser price per carat as compared to Round shape.
