Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend
When a woman gets her engagement ring, it’s almost like the heavens are shining down on her. Birds start chirping, the sun gets a little brighter and that smile across her face doesn’t seem like it could get any bigger. It is a day that all girls wait for and, aside from your actual wedding day, is probably one of the most important days you’ll ever have. Therefore, picking out the perfect ring for that special someone is a process that should be done carefully and thoughtfully.
Rings come in all different shapes and sizes so it can be difficult to pick what you think would be the best one. The different cuts of diamond engagement rings are round, princess, emerald cut, marquis, pear and oval. A round cut is the most popular as it goes with just about any setting and is supposed to be the best shape to show off the stone’s brilliance. Princess cut is a square diamond which looks bigger than differently shaped diamonds of the same weight. Emerald cut is a rectangular diamond that is known to be the most sophisticated of all the cuts.
Marquis, although also round, looks longer than a round or oval cut diamond because it’s pointed at two ends. Pear shape is almost rounded at the top but pointed at the bottom. The pear isn’t that appealing as a single stone set into a ring. This type of cut would be better for other types of jewelry, such as necklaces or earrings. Lastly, oval cut is similar to the round cut but looks bigger because of its shape. This shape works best with larger diamonds. If you’re not sure what would be the best cut or style of ring to buy, don’t hesitate to ask the jeweler.
Buying an engagement ring should not be a stressful process nor should it cost you so much that you have to take out a second mortgage on your home. Ask for help if you have to and explore all your options before making your decision.
