Richest Red Garnet

Red (poem by a 14 year old, worth a read)?
a thousand rubies
and a war fought to win them
nation against nation
kin killing kin
for the glowing riches
the jewels to match the
vermillion sunset
and the lovers held in witness
the hearts broken
lives shaped
during the days death
a color coinciding with
that scarlet lipstick
that he tried on alone
tasting the brightness of the wax
and the sweetness of freedom
the adulterous pigment on the collar
bearing a fearful semblance to
the burgundy blood
blooming on her delicte, pale wrist
blossoming around the bullet
in his youthful chest
garnets of pain
identical to the hue of
the rufescent original sin
the birth of pain
and apex of atrocities
that glowing apple
a delightful shade
of beautiful, toxic, red.
thanks for comments, criticsms, etc.
It sounds like a sixties folk song made for thinly veiled criticism of the Vietnam war.
