Set Gem Loose
I just inherited my Mom’s Jewelry. Stuff that had been laying around for years.?
Unfortunately she had no burial policy, so Hubby and I had to borrow the money to bury her. I dont want to keep most of this stuff and would like to help out. Anyone have a suggestions as to who to talk to as far as appraisal and selling of most of the pieces. Any suggestions? She had a black diamond necklace set in silver (touches of tourquoise also) with drop matching earrings, a couple of dinner rings, loose gem stones and few pieces of gold jewelry.
Take the pieces to a ‘reputable’ jewelery appraiser, antique perhaps?
I had the same situation, I went to 3 different appraisers, and boy, did I get different prices ranges… Be very cautious and take your time.
I finally found the 4th appraiser about 80 to 100 miles from my home. and he topped all the the prices.
Glad I took the time and searched out for the best.
