Because in this particular cut, the gemstone will have only 60 facets as compared to the other cuts, any imperfection will be much more noticeable. It is highly advised that you purchase a good quality diamond or gemstone with bigger size so that it will look more elegant. The diamond or the gemstone with this characteristic cut will not sparkle and be as brilliant as other cuts due to less number of facets, but owning one will set you apart from the crowd.
Cushion cut gemstone does require a minimum of four pronged setting, while addition prongs will be required for larger stone to ensure that the stone is firmly secure in the setting. If you can not afford a diamond ring, you can always opt for other gemstones like pink sapphire, white cubic zirconium, emerald, etc.
